Epsilon Sigma Phi members, life members and non-members . . . Plan now to join us at Lakeside Resort on beautiful Center Hill Lake for Epsilon Sigma Phi Tennessee Chapter's first-ever State Meeting and Leadership Forum on October 28, 2008. The one-day program will begin at 8:30 a.m. and conclude by 4:30 p.m.

A registration fee of $30 will include breakfast, lunch and breaks. Make your reservations for an overnight stay at the lodge hotel for the special rate of $89/night plus applicable taxes. (Group cabins are also available.)

Pre-conference dinner and fellowship, Monday evening, October 27, $15/person (family members invited). Optional activities include boating or fishing on the lake and the Appalachian Center for Crafts.

The 2008 UT Ag Day will be held on Saturday, October 18, 2008 at the UTIA campus in Knoxville. Activities will begin four hours before kickoff of the UT vs. Mississippi State football game. The theme is: ‘Building on our legacy and preparing for our future.’

The deadline for ordering football tickets September 15. A block of tickets is being held for those attending Ag Day. You may order up to six tickets. They cannot guarantee that all six seats will be together, but will make every effort to do so. Ticket orders are non-refundable and will be filled in the order they are received.

Tickets are $50 each plus a handling fee of $6 per order. Make your order directly with the UT Ticket Office, P.O. Box 47, Knoxville, TN 37901. Indicate that tickets are for UT Ag Day participation and include credit card information or a check payable to The University of Tennessee.

The Milan No-Till Field Day marked its 25th anniversary on July 24.

The West Tennessee REC Summer Celebration was held in Jackson on July 10.

Tobacco and forage production was featured at the Greeneville REC field day on July 17.

The Plateau REC summer ‘Steak and Potatoes Field Day’ is August 5 with activities underway at 8:00 a.m. in Crossville.

This year’s final field day will focus on turfgrass. It will be held on September 18 at the Plant Sciences Unit in Knoxville
