AS 489 Lab, Companion & Zoo Animal Management now taught MWF from 9:05-9:55 MWF in PBB 160
Posted: November 1, 2006

BCMB 401 changed their course time from 9:05-9:55 MWF to 8:00-8:50 MWF. This conflicts with AS 489 Lab, Companion & Zoo Animal Management. Subsequently, the time and location for AS 489 has been changed and is now being taught MWF from 9:05-9:55 MWF in PBB 160. This information already shows up on CPO. It is our understanding that students who have already registered for AS 489 will be notified of the change.

UT Advising Policy Change
Posted: September 16, 2004

Last year the Undergraduate Council approved a new academic advising
policy which was to have been effective Fall 2004. This new policy would
have changed the advising requirement for most students so that they would be required to see an advisor once a year rather than once a semester.

However, due to the multitude of programming changes required for the new Student Information System, we have had to delay implementation of the new policy. It will be in effect for Fall 2005 rather than Fall 2004. This means all students must see an advisor and must obtain a signed card from that advisor before they can pre-register for Spring 2005 or for Fall 2005.

Here is the exact wording of both old and new policies:

Old Policy: Prior to registration, during each main term of the academic
year (i.e., during Spring and Fall), each student has the obligation to
consult an advisor for a substantial conference.

New Policy: Prior to advanced registration, all students who have earned
fewer than 30 hours or who are on Academic Review are required to meet
with an advisor during each main term or the academic year (Fall and
Spring). All other students are required to consult an advisor for a
substantial conference once a year.

Please remind students that until Fall 2005 the old policy is in effect,
and they are required to see an advisor before they register for the next
term.
