UT ARBORETUM SOCIETY TO HOLD FALL PLANT SALE OCT. 11
The UT Arboretum Society’s Fall Plant Sale will be on Saturday, October 11th from 9:00 a.m. till 3:00 p.m. at the UT Arboretum, 901 S. Illinois Ave. in Oak Ridge. Follow the signs and drive up to the Program Shelter.
October and late fall are ideal times to add plants to the landscape. Plants will have the fall to develop roots to sustain them through the winter and to get a good start on spring. Several varieties of dogwoods will be featured at the sale. Also, four varieties of crape myrtles (Pink Velour, Burgundy Cotton, Raspberry Sundae and Tonto) will be offered. Vendors at the sale will include Beaver Creek Nursery, Sunlight Gardens, and East Fork Nursery.
The UT Arboretum Society is a non-profit organization of volunteers supporting the public outreach activities of the UT Arboretum in Oak Ridge (901 S. Illinois Ave.). The UT Arboretum encompasses 250 acres with over 7 miles of walking trails, major plant collections, and is a nature and bird watching sanctuary. Arboretum admission is free.
