Citation

This year’s honoree, Calvin C. Bryant, III, started his Extension Service career in Davidson County in 1993. Shortly after, he transferred to Maury County for six years of service as a 4-H/Adult Agriculture Agent. He is presently acting Director for the Lawrence County Extension. Bryant works regularly with 12 community club councils on service and educational programs. He’s been instrumental in starting the Maury County Master Gardener Program, and helped to initiate the “Lawrence County Salute to Agriculture Week.”

Bryant is fondly known for his devotion to youth in Maury County and is active in many 4-H Livestock and Animal Projects. He plans to make good use of the award, by taking a course for community leaders called “Leadership Lawrence County” and attending the 2004 National Association of County Agricultural Agents Conference.
