Citation

Dr. John Riley, the 2004 award winner, is a professor in agricultural economics at the University of Tennessee. One of only three faculty who advise undergraduate students majoring or minoring in Agricultural Economics and Business, Riley teaches five classes which range from ag finance to agribusiness management.

Riley serves as an advisor and coach for the marketing competition team for the National Marketing Association, and is said to represent every quality that the College of Agricultural Sciences and Natural Resources needs in outstanding faculty: commitment, caring, knowledge, communication skills and a passion for agriculture.

Under his leadership as chapter advisor for the FarmHouse Fraternity, it was selected as the Outstanding Fraternity on the UT campus in 2004. His accomplishments as Advisor were also recognized by the UT Interfraternity Council in 2003 when he was named as Outstanding Fraternity Advisor. Riley provides valuable leadership as an internship coordinator, recruiting coordinator and placement coordinator.
