Award Description
This award, provided by the Institute of Agriculture Administration, is given to a recipient among the professional and other academic employees who has contributed most to the attainment of the objectives of the Institute of Agriculture.
Citation
The 2005 award winner Dr. Craig Charron first came to UT a decade ago, and has served with a high degree of professionalism as a research associate in the department of Plant and Soil Science in that time. He also recently earned his PhD in Plant and Soil Science – which should go along nicely with his engineering degree from Duke and his Masters in Horticultural Science from the University of Florida.
One colleague said Dr. Charron’s final seminar was the best presentation he’d seen by a graduate student in 25 years here at UT. In short, he is a remarkable researcher and teacher in plant physiology. His work includes field testing in soybean varieties and other vegetables. This outstanding scientist is known for his dedication to his work, initiative, and a sincere commitment to excellence. He is well-respected – and appreciated – by students and faculty.
